everis Colombia announces its national call for the everis Award 2019
The mission of the everis Awards is to support entrepreneur projects that are in the prototyping phase and are based on technological innovation with a high social impact, not having received a funding of more than 1.5 billion pesos in the last 3 years nor invoiced more than 1 billion pesos in the last fiscal year.
everis Colombia, in collaboration with the everis Foundation, launches their annual entrepreneurship contest. The prize will be awarded to a candidate whose proposal aims to exploit innovation in the technological, management, social, environmental and health domains under the following categories:
- New business models in the digital economy
- Industrial Technologies
- Biotechnology and Health
The winner in Colombia will have direct access to the international final of the everis Awards competing for a prize of €60,000.
The candidates may present their proposal via www.premioseveris.com.co until 23:59, Colombian time, of June 3, 2019.
The international final of the everis Award will take place in Madrid (Spain) during the last week of November. This opportunity stands out for its international dimension, as we receive projects from 10 countries in Latin America and Europe. By winning the final in Madrid, the award-winning project will obtain an economic recognition of €60,000 and mentoring services by i-deals (company of the everis Group) to develop and launch the project.
‘From the everis Awards we seek that all talented entrepreneurs and visionaries in Colombia who are leveraging their talents in technological innovation turn their dreams and ideas into reality. We want to accompany them to make their projects feasible and powerful, for the benefit of the global community’, stated Diego Tovar Chichilla, Chief Executive of everis Colombia.
In the first three editions of the everis Awards Colombia that took place between 2016 and 2018, more than 500 projects were registered for competition, thus showing the great potential in innovation and creativity of the entrepreneurs in this country. Since then, seven Colombians have won the national prize. Among them, Santiago Laliande from Medellín, who won second place in the everis Global Award in 2017 with his project 'Interacpedia’, and Alberto Martínez from Tuluá, winner in 2018 in Colombia with his project 'Kupi', which has achieved exponential growth and development in a short time, and has become a case of success.
The program, which promotes the inclusion of girls through the mentorship of female leaders in various spheres of society, will now benefit, in addition to kids from public schools, those associated to the social institution. Furthermore, all training and mentoring meetings will take place digitally.
How to fly a drone, how to design an app or how to create your own video game will be some of the topics that will be worked on with the children from July 7 to 16.
This activity will take place online on June 26th, at 16:00, with the help of volunteer trainers from the Foundation.
The jury recognised the project for its street cleaning system which, through artificial intelligence and machine learning, detects, classifies and collects rubbish from the streets.
