everis foundation, Distrito Digital and APSA Association organize technology workshops to reduce the digital gap in children with autism

This activity will take place online on June 26th, at 16:00, with the help of volunteer trainers from the Foundation.

everis foundation and Distrito Digital Comunitat Valenciana, in collaboration with APSA, are organizing a virtual technology workshop for children with autism on June 26th at 16:00.

With these workshops, designed and taught by everis foundation, computer thinking and digital skills are promoted, and programming is approached, in a fun way, mainly to children, young people and trainers.

In particular, this workshop, which is being developed with the collaboration of the APSA Association, aims to contribute to reducing the technological gap in the group of minors with some kind of disability, one of the goals set by the Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, which is directed by Carolina Pascual. The spirit of this action is to facilitate the transformation of talent into valuable proposals for society, as well as to eliminate the social, geographical and economic barriers that hinder their development. 

Thus, in this first initiative, a total of 12 children aged between 8 and 16 years, who may follow the workshop from their homes with their computer or tablet, in three simultaneous groups, attended by volunteers from the everis foundation. 

everis, a partner of Distrito Digital, has also collaborated by providing the necessary terminals to those families who did not have any device. This will also allow the children participating in the workshops to continue practicing after this training action.

These workshops, which were initially going to be held in person and have been adapted to the online format, are part of the collaboration agreement between the Digital District of the Valencian Community and the everis foundation, and on this occasion they have also had the collaboration of the APSA Association. 

In addition, the Foundation has made these workshops scalable by turning them into a free online course so that any trainer, teacher, educator, parent, even any child, can follow the steps. It is designed in a playful way, with teachings, tricks and challenges to make the learning process fun and effective. It can be found online as a playlist on its YouTube channel:
